FOUNDATION - Susan Carey
Susan Carey is an alumni of the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. She is a SLP and currently certified by Hanen as a telepractice trainer for More than Words(TM) and Talkability(TM), two Hanen Center programs for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. She is retired from the Hawai'i State Department of Education's North Hawai'i Regional Special Education Office and from Easterseals Hawai’i Hilo Early Intervention Program. Susan currently serves as chair for our Hawai’i Speech Language Hearing Foundation. She was Newsletter Chair from 2017 to 2020. She also represents HSHA by participating in the Department of Health's Hawaii Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD) workgroup since November 2019. Susan is the professional co-chair for the North Hawaii Community Children's Council.
