Revisiting Resilience Hawaii SHA 05-26-20.pdf

The events of the past month associated with COVID-19 outbreak have shaken most of us to our core in virtually all of our life domains – vocation, financial, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual. We left a world we knew and are experiencing an ambiguous and stressful new reality. Despite these realities, there is much we can do to ensure we are equipped to navigate these unfolding challenges. Resilience - the ability to bounce back from tough times - is an essential skill to help us cope and thrive in both our personal and professional domains. By investing in our resilience, we are better equipped to adapt and thrive in these challenging times. This is particularly critical for people in leadership roles given the essential role they play in sustaining optimism and engaging their staff during this crisis. In this interactive webinar, Drs. Kevin Nourse and Alice Waagen will set the foundation for resilience and introduce six strategies that help people sustain their resilience and thrive in adversity. The session will also explore strategies leaders can use to support the resilience of their direct reports..

At the end of this session participants will be able to:
1. Define key concepts related to resiliency and thriving.
2. Describe the six resiliency strategies and assess their current level of resilience.
3. Identify actions they can take to implement resiliency strategies for their own career. 4. Identify actions leaders can take to support the resilience of their followers.

Your attendance at this meeting is highly encouraged as we will be giving awards and proposing amendments to HSHA's By-Laws in order to elect the Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 term.

ASHA CEUs will not be provided for this event.
